The Laboratory of Pulp and Paper Science and Graphic Arts (LGP2) - UMR 5518 is a joined research unit of the National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS) whose sponsoring organisations are Grenoble Institute of Technology (Grenoble INP), the Agefpi which is a private association supporting the International School of Paper, Print Media and Biomaterials (Grenoble INP-Pagora), the French Pulp and Paper Research Institute (Centre Technique du Papier) and the CNRS.
The LGP2 is located on the Grenoble University Campus within the buildings of Grenoble INP-Pagora. Currently about one hundred of people (more than 65 full time equivalents) participate in the research activities of the LGP2, maintaining its national and international reputation. This workforce includes teachers and researchers, technicians, administrative staff and more than 40 PhD students and post-doctoral fellowships. It constitutes the life blood of this research centre, which is the largest European centre in the fields of pulp and paper science and that of converting and printing of paper-based products.
